Hey, I thought it would be nice to display a few things pertaining to my Ham Radio Career.

I currently hold an Extra Class License, having optained such about 20 years ago

I first became a Ham in 1979.

I served as President, Secretary, and Treasurer of the Central Louisiana Amateur Radio Club (CLARC) for many years.

I was the Editor of the Brass Key (The CLARC newsletter) for a number of years.

I have been pretty much inactive for the past couple years. I do have some 2 meter equipment, but it is collecting dust in the closet.

After the advent of computers, especially email, and cell phones, I pretty much dropped Amateur Radio.

If you are like me you like gadgets, trinkets, especially if they are to do with communications, computers, cell phones, etc.

I found a website that is designed to create ringtones in CW (Morse code.)

I am using it to create my Call, WG5W in CW. That is what you hear when this site opens. I have also created ringtones in CW that I use on my cell phone,

I have my cell phone alarm set to alert me when it is time to take my medication, which is twice daily. I use these CW ringtones to alert me.-- pretty nifty.

Of course you don't need to be able to copy CW to enjoy the ringtones on your cell phone, but it is more fun it you can copy at least 13 words a minute. I have not copied code (CW) in years, so it was fun to listen and try my hand at copying again.
